Oil, gas & energy

Safety films for oil, gas and energy, since 1977

Process safety, permit to work, confined space entry and offshore inductions are where Studio 52 started. We combine on-site filming with technical 3D animation to show what happens inside the plant, below the deck and underground.

REC

High-consequence work needs films that are technically exact.

In oil, gas and energy a small deviation from procedure can escalate quickly. Your training films have to be accurate to your plant and your permit system, and clear enough for a contractor who has never seen the site.

  • Offshore and onshore inductions

Site, platform and terminal inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.

  • Process safety animation

Pressure systems, loss of containment and isolations shown with 3D cutaways of the equipment.

  • Permit to work and isolation

Step-by-step films of your permit and LOTO process that make each responsibility clear.

  • Confined space and gas

Atmospheric hazards, testing and rescue arrangements animated without any real exposure.

  • Lessons-learnt and safety alerts

Incident reconstructions that carry your investigation findings across every asset.

  • Golden rules and life-saving rules

Short, memorable films that make your non-negotiables impossible to misread.

1977

the year Studio 52 began producing safety and training films for oil & gas

Nearly five decades of filming on industrial sites, plants and platforms means our crews understand permits, inductions and restricted areas — and know how to film around live operations safely.

How we work on energy assets

Start with a brief
  1. 01

    Technical brief

We agree the procedure, the audience and the standards the film must reflect.

  2. 02

    References and access

We gather P&IDs, photos and procedures, and plan site access with your permit holders.

  3. 03

    Film and model

Crews film on site under your rules; animators model equipment from your references.

  4. 04

    Expert review

Your engineers and HSE team check every scene for technical accuracy.

  5. 05

    Deploy across assets

Language versions and formats for inductions, LMS and safety stand-downs.

FAQs

Energy safety video questions

What operators and contractors usually ask.

Talk to our experts
Can you film on live plant or offshore?

Yes, subject to your permits and site rules. Our crews work under your supervision on agreed shoot days, and anything that can't be filmed safely is animated instead.

How do you keep process animations technically accurate?

We model from your drawings, photographs and procedures, and your engineers review the storyboard and the animation before anything is final.

Can one film be used across several assets or countries?

Yes. We build films in modules with site-specific sections and produce language versions, so one core film serves multiple assets.

Do you also produce for energy operators in the Gulf?

Yes. Our sister company Studio 52 Middle East produces safety films across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
